I know you didn't ask for advice on colleges, but...
don't go to swarthmore! everyone there is depressed and has no social life. same is true for wellesley and most women's colleges that are not in cities.
Upenn is fun, they have a student-run fashion magazine that you might be interested in as well.

I met her at Teen Vogue's Fashion U. I got "lost" on the Teen Vogue floor and stumbled upon her. We chatted and she really liked my style so she gave me her email insead of an autograph like I originally intended (haha fashion nerd).

hey, good luck on all of your visits! you have a very exciting spring break ahead of you, honestly. college visits are really eye-opening because you get such a glipse of what is instore in the future and it is very exciting--that is until you recall the fact that you still have to be accepted...haha.

actually, i live five minutes from Swarthmore, 15-20 from Upenn. dont weigh my judgement too heavily, but i dont really see swarthmore as the best place to begin such a career as the one you are adament on....a great school & beautiful school, but honestly, it is the opposite of fashion forward, much more comparable with the quirky/nerdy side of things. maybe its because i live so close and have spent countless nights doing god-knows-what on campus, but i would never apply, EVEN with the fact that philadelphia is a train ride away. Upenn, however, is a school i definitely would stay in the area for...although i am much, much more inclined to favor NYC over Philadelphia.

but i hope you enjoy yourself, and have a great time meeting with those editors! honestly, i envy you...ill be freezing my butt off in Montreal visiting McGill University (which ive been accepted to and will probably attend). im so excited because i want to know what my life would be like there (and McGill just got ranked in the top 20 universities in the world! haha so exciting)

oh, one more thing...wear comfortable shoes, but also, especially since youre coming from California, bring more than enough cold-weather clothes! honestly, i live in Pennsylvania, and visiting some schools in New York last year, all i had was a fleece jacket and i basically froze.

I made the mistake of wearing stilleto ankle boots when I toured my university. I did look stylish, but I was in a lot of pain. Campus tours are long and can be quite trying as it is, plus you go up and down loads of stairs, so stick to flats or a pair of cute boots with a low heel. With a pair of dressy jeans, a nice blouse and a cardigan, you should be good to go. Just make sure you look polished!

Only wear heels when you go to Teen Vogue if you really want to wear heels.

Unless you're going to be actually meeting with admissions counselor, I would go with jeans and a polo or even more comfortable, something respectable and cute that you can WALK in. Some of these tours are two hours long (case in point: UCLA. 2 and 1/2 hours with hills. I felt bad for the mom next to me in 4 inch stilettos!) Looking your best definitely isn't your #1 priority, but a fashionista such as yourself will probably look the best on your tour. By the time you hit Wellesley, you'll be overwhelmed and exhausted

As a student at Wellesley, I can tell you that you can't go wrong with good old New England preppy... Tory Burch and Jeffrey Campbell flats are the way to go

Wear comfortable shoes for college visits! That's all I can say... Flats maybe? Chic yet comfortable enough to walk around massive campuses in.

In response to your responses to my previous comments: I'll definitely take TONS of pics! Surprisingly, I don't have a lot of pictures of Beijing despite growing up there, so this summer will be the perfect opportunity to catch up on pictures in Beijing. We should definitely meet up in BJ sometime, I'm there every single summer and sometimes during Christmas as well.
