I totally agree with everything you say. I used to go to a very posh private school, but my parents wanted me to change to see how others lived. I can't believe how unoriginal their style is.
You are admirable for your work. I am an aspiring fashion editor at the ripe age of 13. And having people that are becoming successful like you,so soon encourages me!
I already have some connections at Vogue and some big name designers and people think that I get off easy that way. When really I have to work twice as hard to impress them.

when i worked at ellegirl i had the chance to interact with robbie myers some, and i can say she's honestly very genuine and kind (something of a rarity among EICs). glad that comes through in her letters--it's real.

I don't think it was Hillary who specifically requested it -- it was probably her campaign people. But still, most of Vogue's readers are Middle America -- not LA or NYC glamazons like they may have thought.

I don't have stick thin legs either -- but I love minidresses. The key is to make sure the dress is not TOO short...you really need to try on the dress. Make sure the dress hits exactly between your hips and your knees. Opt for the tunic/babydoll minidresses instead of skintight bandage dresses, and black tights are always slimming ;]. Hope that helps!

Positively inspirational.
It really annoys me when you hear about girls (or boys, I suppose, lol), when asked why they would want to work in the fashion industry, reply with "Because I want to be surrounded by the most beautiful fashion objects in the world", or worse still "Because I want to be famous" - this is not what fashion writing, especially magazine writing, is about.
What you have written here, what you have expressed, 100% encapsulates the drive, determination and above all the motive to become involved in the fashion journalism world - and for that I applaud you.
I've never read your blog before, but judging from this post alone, I don't think I'll have a choice but to become a regular reader, I'm already hooked. :)
You're extremely talented and I believe you'll definitely make it big one day.
Good luck on your journey towards becoming editor-in-chief, one day - I just know you'll make it. :)

Wow. sometimes i think you are me trapped in another body.

Reading this post about why you want to be an editor really made me reflect on why i wanted to be involved in journalism and eventually an editor of a successful magazine.

Honestly Noel your words move me. Yes, i know this is just your little blog where you can express your emotions and share your love of fashion, but you truly have talent and i just wanted to let you know you have helped me realize my dream and take action towards achieving it. You are truly and inspiration and you will make an excellent Editor-In-Chief of a magazine.
